Begin your adventure with a morning pickup from Moshi or Arusha. Travel to Machame Gate to complete registration and meet your professional guides, porters, and support team. Start trekking through dense rainforest, enjoying the rich biodiversity, waterfalls, and endemic birds. Ascend gradually to Machame Camp for your first overnight stay. Dinner and rest are provided in the camp’s tented accommodation.
After breakfast, trek through the rainforest as the trail gradually transitions to moorland. Encounter giant heathers, lobelias, and other high-altitude flora. Enjoy panoramic views of Kilimanjaro’s slopes and surrounding landscapes. Reach Shira Camp in the afternoon, located on a high plateau with views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. Start the summit hike from Barafu Camp around midnight. Trek steep scree slopes in cold, low-oxygen conditions toward the crater rim.
